So here I go- ready to move (albeit temporarily) out of my new home in Seattle, back to New Delhi, India.
I grew up in New Dellhi, went to school there, partied there, met and married my husband there and left nearly a decade ago. Visited often, however briefly, marvelled at the changes and went back to my simple first generation immigrant life in the United States.
Now I'm going back to Delhi for 3- 3 1/2 months to work at my firm's India office, live with my parents, finally figure out how much I have changed, how much India (and Delhi) has changed and finally decide if I am, after all, Indian or have I crossed that invisible line and become an American - in those most private of places- in my heart and mind......
